COLUMBUS, Ohio — In the wake of the Ohio State car-and-knife attack, calls placed to 911 were released Tuesday.

Police identified the attacker as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, who began stabbing people after attempting to run others over. The attack left 11 people injured, and Artan was quickly shot and killed by an officer, reported the Associated Press.

The 911 calls revealed a chaotic scene that evolved into a violent incident on campus, reported WAVE.

“We need medics,” responders said to dispatch. “We have a vehicle that struck several pedestrians.”

Other calls highlighted how Artan rammed into an “entire crowd of students” with a vehicle and one student being “cut by a machete in the arm.”

Another caller reported, “I think this is some type of terrorist attack. Because the guy ran a car through a crowd of students. The guy did it purposefully.”
