N.J. provider hurt after jumping from moving rig due to fight with driver

WYCKOFF, N.J. — An EMS provider was seriously injured when he exited a moving ambulance Thursday afternoon on Route 208, the Daily Voice reported.

Police Lt. Joseph Soto said that the 21-year-old employee of a private ambulance service had been arguing with the driver.

A firefighter who was passing by stopped to render aid.

Jorge Ariel, a fire lieutenant in Haledon and firefighter in Hawthorne, took a blanket and a C-collar from the A&M Medical ambulance and kept the injured responder talking, according to witnesses.

The injured responder was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.
