Several people were injured in the crash and transported to local hospitals, including the driver of the truck. State Police said the crash remains under investigation.

Speaking to reporters outside the Job Corps facility Monday, Devens Fire Chief Timothy Kelly said his firefighters responded to the scene at around 10:47 a.m. Monday, “for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injury,” after multiple 911 calls.

On their way to the scene, Kelly said firefighters learned the vehicle in question was a truck and had crashed into a building. Units on scene called for mutual aid, Kelly said, which was answered by the fire departments of Ayer, Shirley, Harvard, Lunenburg and Bolton, along with the District 8 Technical Rescue Team.

Kelly said the truck driver and four others were transported to local hospitals via ambulance, while two others were transported to a local hospital by Shriver Job Corps staff.

“Six additional parties were treated by Shriver Job Corps medical staff; they have a medical unit on the scene,” said Kelly.

The extent of the injuries was not immediately clear, nor was the cause of the crash.
