WICHITA FALLS, Texas — A Texas man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly stole an ambulance and crashed it into another vehicle.

Wichita Falls police say the Transtar Ambulance Company rig was stolen from a station sometime around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, according to KFDX. Shortly after the rig was reported stolen, police received a call about a hit-and-run crash involving an ambulance. No one was injured in the crash.

Police ultimately located the ambulance in a neighboring county about an hour after the crash. Vincent Persinger, 50, was arrested and charged with theft from $150,000 to $300,000 and causing an accident involving damage over $200. Officials said the ambulance is valued at about $250,000.
