ROCHESTER, Minn. — Around 3 a.m. Monday, Rochester firefighters and Mayo Clinic EMS providers were responding to a call about a child having trouble breathing when they saw an armed man who later told police he was practicing a “bomb drill.”

When police officers arrived on the scene, they received another report about a man with a gun in the area.

The Post Bulletin reported that the man followed the providers and checked out the fire truck and the ambulance.

The man was later found at an elementary school in possession of 10 airsoft guns, four pistols and six rifles in addition to four grams of meth, KTTC reported. Police arrested him.

The police department said the man appeared to be high on meth and claimed he was practicing a “bomb drill.”

He told officers he was thinking about stealing the truck and the ambulance.

The suspect faces multiple charges.
