REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — Delaware State Police say three people suffered minor injuries after a car and ambulance crashed into each other in Rehoboth Beach on Sunday.

Troopers were called to the two vehicle crash involving a Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company ambulance at 6:23 p.m. on Route 1 and Route 24.

According to investigators, a 2004 Ford ambulance, driven by Teri Overstreet, 22, of Harbeson, was traveling northbound on Route 1. Police say the ambulance approached the intersection of Route 24, prepared to turn left and slowed down due to a red left turn traffic signal. It then waited for southbound traffic to stop, authorities say.
