PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh public safety officials said nearly two years of planning helped the city host the 2026 NFL Draft without any major incidents, despite a record crowd of 805,000 visitors.

The Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety said police, EMS, fire, emergency management and event officials worked with local, state and federal partners to prepare for the three-day event.

During the draft, Pittsburgh EMS handled 229 calls for service and transported 45 people to hospitals. Police reported two arrests and one citation inside the draft area, along with 17 arrests and 16 non-traffic citations outside the immediate draft area and Downtown.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire reported one response for hot ashes from a grill and no hazardous materials incidents.
