MACON, Ga. — A 25-year-old woman has died after jumping out of a moving ambulance on Interstate 75.
The woman reportedly created a disturbance at the Flash Foods at 4700 Hartley Bridge Road but left before deputies arrived, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
A little later she was found on Mount Pleasant Church Road and asked for an ambulance to take her to the hospital to be checked out.
On the way to Medical Center, Navicent Health, she had been cooperative and was talking to paramedics before she unbuckled her seatbelt and bailed from the ambulance at about 10 p.m. Thursday.
She was seriously injured and was loaded back into the ambulance and taken for treatment. She died of head injuries around 11:25 a.m. at the Medical Center-Naviscent Health in Macon.
