OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A scuffle between two Florida firefighters caught on camera during a medical call led to both firefighters involved being terminated last week.

The two Osceola County firefighters had responded to a call about a child having trouble breathing at a hotel in October, according to WFTV.

The child was placed in a rescue vehicle with their mother and was waiting to be transported when Firefighters Raymond Powell and Jaison Monanski began physically fighting each other beside the vehicle, outside the hotel.

A worker from the hotel witnessed the fight and called Osceola County Fire Rescue & EMS to complain about the “blatantly unprofessional” behavior.

During the investigation into the incident, Monanski said he and Powell were 44 hours into a 48-hour shift, and that the fight was a result of horseplay that escalated too far.

The fire chief fired both men and demoted a lieutenant who was present to engineer.
