Canadian public safety group releases mental health self-screening tools

The Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment’s suite of tools allows users to answer anonymous questions and receive immediate feedback

REGINA, Saskatchewan — The Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment released a suite of online, anonymous tools for responders to assess whether they are experiencing mental health symptoms.

The online screening tools are designed for self-assessment and include symptoms such as depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder and alcohol abuse.

Responders can use the tools to answer a brief set of questions and receive immediate feedback. The user can also compare their score to others in their industry.

The goal of the anonymous, self-screening tool is to give responders the information they need about their symptoms so they can decide about accessing further help.

The entire suite of screening tools can be found here.
