GREENLAWN, N.Y. — A firefighter died Tuesday after responding to several calls, according to officials.
Greenlawn Fire Department firefighter-paramedic Kent Stillwagon, 53, was found in cardiac arrest at his home just after midnight on Tuesday after responding to several calls on Monday, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.
Stillwagon was transported to the hospital by his colleagues from the department, where he later died.
“The Greenlawn Fire Dept. and the residents of our district lost one of the BEST, most experienced, professionals we have,” the post said. “We ask for your prayers and support of the Stillwagon and GFD family during this difficult time.”
According to Stillwagon’s obituary, visitation will be held Friday, April 20 at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. on the same day.
