JERUSALEM — It is with great sadness that United Hatzalah announces the passing of one of our finest volunteers, Efraim (Effi) Gadassi z “l.
Efraim, an EMT in the Ambucycle Unit, was critically wounded in a motor vehicle accident while on his way to a medical emergency call at 3:30 a.m. in the center of Jerusalem on Menashe ben Yisrael street. He died of his wounds shortly thereafter at the hospital. The United Hatzalah family, the organization’s volunteers, board of directors and administration, are mourning this tragedy and share the sorrow with the family.
Ephraim, a father of three young children, was a very active volunteer. He did so with great dedication in his activities as an EMT, as part of the Ted Kavod project, and hospital ER volunteer. He helped many people and saved many lives. He was a symbol and example of volunteerism for the public at any time. We are saddened beyond words by his passing.
We accompany the Gadassi family and support them wherever necessary.
The funeral will be taking place Friday at 11:00 a.m. on Shamgar street and Efraim will be buried on Har Hamenuchot in Jerusalem.
