Woman thanks paramedics who helped her and her newborn 3 years ago

Paramedic Alex Villanueva and his team reunited with Krystal Daniels when she arrived at the Springfield Township Fire Department to thank them for helping her in 2015

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Paramedics who helped a woman get to the hospital after going into labor reunited with her three years later.

WCPO reported that Springfield Township Fire Department paramedic Alex Villanueva and his team responded to Krystal Daniels’ home in 2015 when she and her husband called for help after realizing her baby was going to arrive before they could get to the hospital.

The paramedics arrived shortly after baby Kaden was born, and transported Daniels and the newborn to the hospital while soothing Daniels’ fears.

This week, Daniels arrived at the station to thank the crew for their help.

“We really appreciate them so much,” she said. “We were afraid, very afraid. We thank you all for coming in and saving the day, making us feel comfortable.”

Villanueva said seeing the family again was “great,” as he doesn’t usually hear back from patients.

“I’m just really, really thankful that he’s doing really well,” he said of Kaden. “It’s rewarding to see that everything turned out fine.”
