SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Sioux Falls City Council voted in favor of an 8.6% increase in ambulance service rates for PatientCare EMS, the Argus Leader reported Tuesday.
The contract calls for a rate increase of 3% or the annual increase in the Consumer Price Index, currently 8.6% — whichever is higher. The contract also requires the ambulance service to hit response time benchmarks, which it has for the last 12 months.
The rate increase was 5% last year, and it was 3% in the two years before that.
