FDNY EMT fired after 3-year investigation into violent behavior

He’s accused of pulling a knife on a coworker and swinging a broom handle at his partner

NEW YORK — An EMT accused of pulling a knife on a coworker and threatening another with a broom handle was fired after a three-year investigation, the New York Post reports.

In 2010, Sean Holdip, 35, is accused of swinging a broom handle at his partner because he thought the man had insulted his driving.

Witnesses say on March 10, 2011, he allegedly pulled out a three-to-four-inch blade in front of Brooklyn’s Brookdale Hospital and made threats against two paramedics. During a 2014 hearing he told a judge he pulled out the knife to “clean his nails.”

He was assigned to a supply room after the 2011 incident.

He was fired in September 2014, and lost an appeal in December, 2014.
