In this episode of Inside EMS, co-hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson answer email from listeners who ask about the use of smartphone apps and features in daily tasks performed by EMS providers on the job. The discussion touches on the use of the In Case of Emergency (ICE) app and the Medical ID app, which can be accessed by emergency services personnel from the lock screen of an iPhone and provides a patient’s need-to-know medical history, such as allergies or current medications, as well as emergency contact information.

The two also discuss the usefulness of apps for training, from teaching new providers, to playing continuing education games. In this episode, Grayson also discusses the use of CPR music during arrests, and Cebollero calls it “the most ridiculous thing he as ever said on this show.”
