Life-Assist has taken a notable step toward breast cancer awareness through the initiation of Project Pink, a program inspired by the memory of late Customer Care Manager, Debbie Lang, who succumbed to metastatic breast cancer in 2020.

According to Marketing Manager Stacey Scholz, Project Pink emerged from a desire to go beyond the standard manufacturer donations from pink glove sales in October, typically supported by the first responder community. Life-Assist sought to broaden the scope and impact by raising awareness and contributing directly to METAvivor, a charity devoted to metastatic breast cancer research and support.

The initiative is an extension of Life-Assist’s culture, Scholz shared, which harbors a deep-seated belief in giving back to the community, epitomized through a variety of actions, including an employee donation matching program.

A shared commitmentThis endeavor has since expanded through partnerships with vendor collaborators, leading to a full-fledged line of Project Pink products. Besides the traditional pink gloves manufactured by Ansell, Sempermed and others, significant contributions have been made by Taylor Healthcare, who created exclusive pink sheets for the project and StatPacks, who added the Medslinger G3+ Backpack to the Project Pink lineup.

This collective effort has garnered warm and appreciative responses from vendor partners, who have played a vital role in ensuring the availability of Project Pink products. Taylor Healthcare, Ansell Healthcare, StatPacks and Sempermed, among others, have shown commendable support toward this initiative, Scholz reported. Their partnerships not only help in keeping the Project Pink products in stock, but also underscore a shared commitment to a cause that extends beyond business.

Life-Assist’s aspiration for Project Pink doesn’t stop here. The company envisions a long-term commitment to METAvivor, aiming to ensure the initiative remains vibrant and continues to inspire community involvement.

Bryan Holliday, the president and CEO of Life-Assist, expressed a profound sense of pride and fulfillment in the collaborative efforts surrounding Project Pink, pledging to uphold this initiative for years to come.
