PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — An ambulance burst into flames Tuesday night after medics noticed flames coming from the engine.
NBC Philadelphia reported that two EMTs noticed the flames from the engine just before 11:30 p.m. There were no patients in the vehicle at the time, but there were plenty of expensive items in the ambulance, according to the report.
The EMTs pulled over and quickly saved medicine and medical equipment from the rear of the ambulance as the fire spread from the hood into the vehicle, according to the report.
The fire caused oxygen tanks to explode but no one was hurt, according to the report. Firefighters responded to the scene to put out the flames and the cause of the fire wasn’t clear.
