Mich. woman killed after struck by ambulance and car

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A woman died after being struck by an ambulance and then a car that fled the scene in the early hours of Sunday.

It happened just after 2 a.m. on 28th Street near Jefferson Avenue SE, according to Grand Rapids police.

The 45-year-old woman was walking in the road when she was struck by a westbound Life EMS ambulance en route to a non-emergency call, according to GRPD, and then by an eastbound car. The woman died at the scene. Her name is being withheld pending notification of family.
