BETHLEHEM, Pa. — An Allentown man faces charges after he crashed into a parked ambulance Saturday, police said.

Edwin Quinones, 32, was driving in the 500 block of Stefko Boulevard when he rammed into a parked city ambulance, police said.

Quinones and his passenger were not wearing seat belts and smashed their heads into the windshield, police said. When emergency crews tried to attend to Quinones, he resisted, police said.

Quinones was eventually found to have a golf ball-sized bag of marijuana in his pocket and smelled of alcohol, police said.

Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said. There Quinones told police he didn’t know what happened. He told police he thought he was leaving an Allentown Burger King. When police told him what happened, he refused to believe he hit anything, police said.

Quinones’ car sustained major damage as did the side of the city ambulance, police said.

Quinones will be charged by summons with possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving without a license, drunken driving and not wearing a seat belt.
