NEW LONDON, Conn. — Clunkers for emergency response vehicles is a big issue for EMTs in New London. Ambulances there are in such bad shape, some are now off the road.
So far the city has been able to respond to medical emergencies despite being down one maybe two ambulances. But it’s frustrating because the city believes it bought a couple of lemons.
A 9-year-old old ambulance that is usually used as a back up is going out every day now. That’s because the two newer ones, each less than two years old, have had a host of problems.
