11-year-old’s drawing featured on Wyo. ambulance

The unit now features an image of Yellowstone Cutthroat trouts as part of a Wyoming Medical Center ambulance drawing contest

CASPER, Wyo. — An 11-year-old student at Crest Hill Elementary School was the winner of the Wyoming Medical Center ambulance drawing contest, and his design was unveiled to the community.

A total of 130 drawings were entered into the contest, and Colten Sheets won with a picture featuring Yellowstone Cutthroat trouts, Oil City reports.

“I’m super excited to see it and excited for him,” said his father Ryan. “He loves fishing and his biggest goal is to conquer the Game and Fish’s Cutt Slam. The Yellowstone Cutthroat was very fitting for this community.”

Sheets received an honorary toy ambulance with the fish on it during a pizza party in the school’s library. Afterward, he was escorted outside to help pull the tarp off the new Cutthroat Ambulance.

“I thought it would be cool to incorporate a native species to Wyoming and it lives in Wyoming,” he said.

The ambulance will be parked at Wyoming Medical Center’s EMS station, and will be in service for at least the next 10 years.
