SAN DIEGO — In honor of Sepsis Awareness Month, the Sepsis Alliance compiled a multitude of facts on the life-threatening infection.
Sepsis, a body-wide inflammatory response to infection that injures tissues and organs, is the third leading cause of death in the United States and survival depends on early recognition and treatment.
