BURLINGTON, Vt. — Construction is underway at the University of Vermont on a new $1.4 million headquarters for UVM Rescue, a student-run organization that provides ambulance services to the campus and community.
The new facility within a complex of university buildings on Burlington’s East Avenue will include a heated garage for two ambulances, crew quarters and a common room.
Last year UVM Rescue received 1,615 calls.
UVM Rescue is self-funded through payments made for its services.
Construction is due to be completed this fall.
