AKRON, Iowa — This ambulance service has probably saved my dad’s life twice,” says Lynette Kiger, volunteer at Akron EMS.
Covering about 300-square-miles in Iowa and some of South Dakota, the volunteers at Akron EMS handle a number of emergencies each week.
“The faster we can get to the patient the better off they’re going to be,” says Justin Heydon EMS director at Akron EMS. “The more chance they have of survival.”
