In this week’s Inside EMS quick clip co-hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson explain the importance of understanding what a blood pressure reading actually measures.
“We look at blood pressure sometimes and just take it as an arbitrary number,” Cebollero said.
They describe how it is the measurement of the left ventricular function, and the importance of understanding how this relates to the degree of vascular resistance.
“When you start to look at it this way,” Cebollero said, “It really starts to open up more of a story about what the heart is doing, and the circulation of blood throughout the body.”
