BARTOW, Fla. — A Polk County Fire Rescue paramedic plans to run 90 miles this month to raise awareness about the danger of drowning after two fatal incidents and one close call.

Blaise Dillman will average three miles per day throughout June, and is raising $1,000 for Abby Grace’s Hope, a local nonprofit founded by a family whose daughter almost drowned on Memorial Day 2013, The Ledger reports.

The organization provides vouches for $550 survival swimming classes to families that can’t afford the cost.
