KEY LARGO, Fla. — A Key Largo man with past convictions for attempted lewd and lascivious behavior on a minor was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly repeatedly kicking a 5-year-old boy.

Marvin Price told Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies the kid threw a rock at him.

MCSO deputies said the boy’s mother told them he was playing in the yard outside their home near mile marker 101 in Key Largo. When she walked outside, she said she saw the 6-foot Price yelling and kicking her son, who was on the ground. Price, 39, told the mother the boy hit him in the head with a thrown rock.

Two deputies found Price at the nearby Trade Winds Plaza. He told them he needed ambulance transportation as the projectile strike had knocked out all his teeth and one eye. Deputies reported Price had no obvious injuries, but did still have all his teeth and both eyes. Paramedics confirmed this visual diagnosis.

Deputies say the boy, on the other hand, had fresh bruises on his stomach and back. He was taken to Mariners Hospital for further examination.

Price was charged with aggravated child abuse. From 2000-2003, he did a total of two years, eight months for the lewd and lascivious behavior conviction and cocaine possession with intent to sell or distribute.
