S.C. county mourns loss of dedicated EMS captain

Laurens County EMS Captain Andy Heiney was known for his professionalism, courage and selflessness

LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. — The Laurens County community is grieving the loss of Captain Andy Heiney, a committed paramedic for more than two decades.

Laurens County EMS announced that Heiney passed away this past weekend, Fox Carolina reported.

Over the last 20 years, Heiney dedicated his career to serving the community as a paramedic, lieutenant and captain.

“Andy was not only a valued member of our community, but also a beacon of hope and care for those in need,” said Laurens County EMS. “His unwavering commitment to saving lives and providing comfort during times of crisis touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In times of need, Andy exemplified professionalism, courage and selflessness. His dedication to serving others was truly exemplary and serves as an inspiration to us all.”
