ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A man competing in the Meek and Mighty Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Saturday collapsed and went into cardiac arrest, and policemen on the scene were at a loss on how to help him.
Then, along came another triathlete, Teresa McCoy, who happens to be a nurse at Tampa General Hospital. McCoy began CPR, and then called for a defibrillator. The cops fetched one and, after she gave him a couple of shocks, the patient was awake and doing fine.
McCoy then got back on her bike and finished the race.
