Rock Township Ambulance District joins other ambulance districts that have purchased body armor for their paramedics

IMPERIAL, Mo. ― The Rock Township Ambulance District purchased ballistic vests for their paramedics, joining other neighboring ambulance districts who have equipped their EMS providers with body armor.

All of the paramedics in the district now have ballistic vests to help protect against injury from knives or handguns, reported News 4.

The Rock Township Ambulance District paid $260 each for the vests.

The vests also come with thick strike plates that can be added to potentially stop a high velocity rifle round. Rock Township told said the body armor is for the risks associated with dangerous people or situations their paramedics may encounter.
