KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An ambulance company received national awards for its safety and innovation efforts.

Priority Ambulance was named the national AMBY Award winner by the American Ambulance Association in the Innovation in EMS and Patient and Employee Safety Program categories.

The agency’s recognition for innovation was sparked by its efforts to increase patient satisfaction, efficiency and accountability by collaborating with Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation to launch Baptist Ambulance, which has allowed Priority Ambulance to serve more than 30,000 patients annually.

The Patient and Employee Safety Programs award was given to the agency for their commitment to increasing vehicle safety standards in EMS. The agency recently launched a multi-year vehicle safety initiative designed to reduce crash risk and unsafe driving behavior.

“At Priority, we put patients and employees at the forefront of our strategies and investments, as we strive to develop safe, accountable, friendly and efficient EMS delivery systems in the nation,” Priority Ambulance President Bryan Gibson said. “We are extremely honored to be recognized by our peers and the American Ambulance Association for our commitment to excellence in EMS as we continue to set the bar for innovation, safety and efficiency in our industry.”
