UNION COUNTY, S.C. — A man was arrested after trying to escape a “haunted ambulance.”

The State reported that the unidentified man was found by police wandering a parking lot after a Belk loss prevention officer reported that he was yelling at cars and falling down.

Police said the man’s pants were unzipped and he was covered in dirt and grass, and he was sweating profusely. They said he kept changing the subject while they tried to talk to him, and they called EMS after asking if he needed medical help.

The report said the man began to “freak out” and yell things that did not make sense when paramedics arrived, trying to run away from the “haunted ambulance.”

The man began kicking and screaming after police handcuffed him. He faces charges of public drunkenness and resisting arrest.
