SOUTHSIDE, Ga. — More than $12,000 has been raised as a reward for any tip that leads Savannah-Chatham police to the arrest of the person who shot an off-duty paramedic, Southside Fire/EMS officials said Friday.

At 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Lt. Pamela Jackson, a Southside firefighter and paramedic, was turning in for bed when she heard a rustle at the front door of her home on the 7300 block of Lester Avenue. Jackson walked toward the door and it was kicked in, according to a metro police report and Southside fire Asst. Chief Hugh Futrell.

An aggressor at the front door fired at least two shots at Jackson and took off. She ran back to her bedroom, called 911 and then her Southside colleagues for help, a police report stated. Southside paramedics took Jackson to Memorial University Medical Center with injuries to her cheek and forearm.
