SHROPSHIRE, England — An ambulance was taken off the road after someone attacked the vehicle while an EMS crew treated a patient in the back.
BBC reported that officials are investigating what occurred when EMS provider Joy Hughes and a trainee were treating a patient when an “unprovoked attack” resulted in mud thrown on the ambulance and the wing mirror broken, according to EMS provider Edd Davis.
Hughes tweeted that “a random stranger began to attack the vehicle,” but the crew and patient were able to safely escape.
The EMS agency issued a statement about the incident, saying that EMS providers are “sadly familiar with this sort of behavior,” but that the attack “must have been terrifying” for the patient.
