JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — AmeriPro EMS, a southeastern ambulance transport company, has acquired Florida-based Ambulance Service, Inc., one of the oldest EMS providers in the Jacksonville area.

Ambulance Service, Inc. has been in operation for 54 years, according to an AmeriPro EMS press release. Through its purchase, AmeriPro plans to further expand its ambulance fleet, which started with 10 units in April 2018 and currently operates 60 units in Florida and Georgia.

“Ambulance Service, Inc. was the right company at the right time for us to further expand into the Florida market,” said AmeriPro CEO Suhas Uppalapati. “We are excited to bring the communities of Jacksonville, St. Johns, Nassau and Clay Counties industry-changing, modern technology and state-of-the-art ambulances.”

AmeriPro ambulances are equipped with advanced life support and Wi-Fi hotspots to transmit patient care information to receiving medical facilities.

“We are the next generation of EMS and we are bringing a totally different model of mobile-integrated healthcare EMS to Florida,” said AmeriPro COO and Executive Vice President Larry J. Richardson.
