Ambulance hits deer while responding to call

No EMS providers were hurt, but about $3,000 in damage was done to the rig

FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa — An ambulance was damaged after hitting a deer while responding to a call Saturday morning.

KCHANews.com reported that the ambulance was responding to the scene of an SUV that rolled over and landed in a ditch.

No EMS providers were hurt in the collision, but an official said about $3,000 in damage was done to the rig.

The woman in the crash was taken to a hospital for her injuries, along with two passengers. The SUV was a total loss and charges in the crash are pending.
