BOULDER, Colo. — A driver was cited for failing to yield to an ambulance after a 28th Street crash sent two people to a hospital, and left the patient riding in the crashed ambulance in need of another one.
At about 10:24 a.m. Friday, an ambulance was driving a patient to a hospital with its lights and sirens on when it and a vehicle crashed around 28th Street and Colorado Avenue, according to a Boulder Fire-Rescue post on X. The vehicle’s driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital for evaluations.

After the crash, another ambulance came and took the patient who was in the first ambulance to a Boulder hospital, according to the post.
No Boulder Fire or ambulance personnel were injured, the post says.
The crash caused significant delays for northbound 28th Street, according to Boulder Fire. The road was fully reopened by about 12:30 p.m.
Motorists were being asked to find an alternate route while crews responded, the post says.
