Patient dead, 2 EMS providers injured after rollover rig crash

The patient was receiving CPR en route to the hospital when the crash occurred

ENTERPRISE, Ala. — A patient died and two EMS providers were injured after a rollover ambulance crash in Alabama on Monday.

The Hartford ambulance was on its way to the hospital and a paramedic was performing CPR on the patient when the crash occurred, according to WSFA. The rig and an SUV collided at an intersection, causing the rig to roll on its side.

The patient was pronounced dead at the scene and the two ambulance crewmembers and the SUV’s passenger were transported to the hospital. The driver of the SUV was treated at the scene. It is unclear if the patient sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

The Enterprise Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit is conducting an investigation into the crash.

The injuries to the two EMS providers were reportedly minor and not life-threatening.
