Marine arrested for crashing ambulance into police cruiser

Police said Martin Laravillela stole an ambulance and crashed it into a police cruiser while celebrating his birthday at a Dave and Busters

UTICA, Mich. — A U.S. Marine was arrested for allegedly crashing a stolen ambulance into a police cruiser.

Click on Detroit reported that Martin Laravillela was celebrating his birthday at a Dave and Busters when paramedics arrived at the arcade to treat a patient.

Police said Laravillela was in the parking lot checking several vehicles when he got into the ambulance and drove off before crashing into a police cruiser.

Laravillela, who is stationed in South Carolina at Selfridge Air Force Base, was arrested and charged with drunken driving and theft of an automobile.

Police said the crash resulted in around $5,000 worth of necessary repairs.
