STERLING, Ill. — An Illinois man is facing multiple criminal charges after police say he fled a hospital in a stolen ambulance then crashed into another vehicle.
Pedro T. Galindo III, 26, allegedly ran from the hospital emergency department and drove away in the stolen rig but didn’t get far before losing control and hitting another vehicle, according to KWQC.
The crash caused the ambulance to roll over and both Galindo and the other driver were transported to the hospital. Neither sustained serious injuries, officials said.
Galindo is now charged with felony theft of an ambulance, aggravated battery, obstructing identification and disobeying a stop sign.
