N.C. man on motorcycle dies after collision with ambulance

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A motorcyclist died Tuesday after colliding with a Medex ambulance that was responding to a motor vehicle accident, according to the Smithfield Police Department.

Smithfield police officers said that according to witnesses on scene, the operator of the motorcycle crossed the road’s center line into the path of the ambulance. The rider, Brandon Alan McLamb, 35, was ejected from the motorcycle, WNCN reported.

EMS providers rendered aid, but McLamb died from his injuries.

Police said no one else was injured in the accident. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol helped with the investigation.
