WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — A McCreary County woman was killed and several other individuals injured following a two-vehicle collision on KY 92 Thursday night.
According to Kentucky State Police Post 11, troopers responded to the scene about a mile west of Williamsburg around 8:55 p.m.
KSP’s initial investigation indicates a juvenile was driving 2011 Ford Fusion eastbound on KY 92W when the vehicle cross the center line and hit a westbound 2012 Kia Sorento — driven by Tyler R. Hardison, 31, of Louisville — head on.
Hardison’s front passenger — 41-year-old Marlainna D. Terry of Stearns — was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.
Hardison and his two juvenile passengers along with two juvenile passengers from the Ford Fusion were all transported by Air Evac to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. One of the juveniles from the Fusion was in critical but stable condition at press time, while the others had non-life-threatening injuries.
The Fusion’s juvenile driver and another juvenile passenger were transported by Whitley County EMS to Baptist Health Corbin with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to KSP, toxicology was performed on both drivers and results are pending.
KSP Post 11 Trooper Aron Jones is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 personnel, Whitley County Sheriff’s Office, Williamsburg Fire Department, Whitley County EMS, Knox County EMS, McCreary County EMS, PHI Air Medical, Air Evac Life Team and the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.
