YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — An EMT was struck, possible on purpose, by an all-terrain vehicle as the EMT assisted the victim of a vehicle crash Thursday.
The Life Fleet EMT was standing on a bridge filing paperwork when he saw two ATVs, painted black, approaching on the sidewalk at a high rate of speed, WKBN reported.
The EMT told police he was struck by one of the ATVs as he tried to get out of the way, and was then dragged for about 5-10 feet.
The ATVs then drove away, leaving the EMT with ripped pants, cuts on his hands and broken glasses. The EMT was taken to the hospital with what seemed to be minor injuries.
The EMT said the woman who was involved in a prior incident and whom he was assisting drove away as soon as the EMT was hit.
The driver of the ATV was wearing a helmet and was not identified.
