BOSTON, Mass. — The National EMS Memorial Foundation is moving forward with the Site Selection Study phase to establish a permanent National EMS Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The study will be conducted in partnership with AECOM – an architecture, engineering, and consulting firm – and the findings will be presented to committees that will determine the best site for the National EMS Memorial, according to a press release from the NEMSMF.
AECOM provided technical services on some of the memorials in Washington D.C., including the National World War I Memorial, National Desert Storm Memorial, American Veteran’s Disabled for Life Memorial, Eisenhower Memorial, Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Education Center, Air Force Memorial and the Martin Luther King Memorial.
“It has always been such an incredible privilege and responsibility to work on the National EMS Memorial project, a sentiment echoed by all of the members of our team,” said David Kamlan, director of media relations for the NEMSF.
“There is no question in my mind that AECOM is the industry leader when it comes to consulting on memorials in D.C.,” James Orsino, vice president of the NEMSMF, said. “But the thing that struck me the most was their wholehearted commitment to the project. From our very first conversation, they took great efforts to fully understand the EMS industry as a whole, as well as the perspective of its individual constituents.”
