GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities say five people were killed and four seriously injured in a head-on collision on a busy southeastern Michigan expressway.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon on U.S. 23 in Livingston County’s Green Oak Township, about 30 miles northwest of Detroit. Authorities closed the highway for about four hours.
The township police department said in a news release that three people were dead at the scene and two others died at a hospital. Three young children are among those who were seriously injured.
