MORELAND, Ky. — Almost a year-and-a-half after Daniel Tygart’s wife was pronounced dead by a Lincoln County paramedic and half an hour later determined to be alive by a deputy coroner, a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed.
The widow and administrator of Kristal Tygart’s estate filed the complaint Aug. 21 in Lincoln Circuit Court, naming Stanford Emergency Medical Service and six employees as defendants, including former West Lincoln EMS Director Troy Cain.
The suit stems from the April 18, 2014, death of 46-year-old Kristal Tygart and alleges that she lost her life as a direct and foreseeable result of Cain’s “negligent, grossly negligent or reckless acts and omissions.”
