NEW YORK — Video footage posted online Friday shows a clearer angle of a motorcycle crash and controversial emergency response that has sparked criticism.
Responders are seen attempting to free the driver of the motorcycle from under a car by using hydraulic spreaders under the rear of the car where the victim was trapped.
At about 4:50 into the video, the car drops down and screams can be heard from a crowd of onlookers.
Officials in New York have told reporters that the 21-year-old crash victim died due to the original incident and not the response.
At about the 9:45 mark, rescuers remove the victim from under the car.
