MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — Responders took care of one of their own after a firefighter-paramedic was seriously hurt in a vehicle crash Thursday night.
Crews with the Madison Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle crash scene where a fellow colleague was seriously injured, reported Cincinnati.com.
Crews extricated the firefighter-paramedic, who was later flown to a hospital.
According to the department, the firefighter-paramedic is awake and talking. He suffered several broken bones and nerve damage; he has already undergone one surgery.
“He will have a long road to recover. We appreciate all the prayers and support and we will continue to keep everyone updated,” the department wrote on its Facebook page.
