MONROE, N.C. — A S.C. EMT has been charged with misdemeanor death after allegedly causing a crash that killed his co-worker on Tuesday.
Jonathan Cory Brown was driving the ambulance that reportedly pulled in front of a tractor trailer, causing a collision that killed EMT Belinda Rivers, who was sitting in the passenger seat, according to the Associated Press.
The Sandhills Ambulance Service vehicle had just dropped off a patient to the hospital and was leaving when the crash occurred.
Brown is expected to recover from his injuries and the driver of the tractor-trailed did not suffer any injuries.
Rivers was buried Thursday.
